About Me
My name is Emma Gueorguieva and I am a senior in high school. This year marks my second undertaking of the Independent Study & Mentorship Program, in which I will study creative writing and communications. Last year, I studied neonatology under the mentorship of Dr. Becky Ennis, the director of the NICU at Clements University Hospital. While my current independent study stems in the opposite direction of that, the passion I possess for writing has only grown stronger and become a dream I am determined to chase.
In the process of my study, I am also committed to other organizations such as National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, Quill and Scroll Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and I currently hold the position of co-chair for the former Children's Hospital Junior Leadership Board, in which I aided the transition and re-launch to Changemakers for Children's this fall 2018. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano, volunteering at various organizations, and writing poetry. My main goal this year is to make an impact on at least one person through my writing. |
Mission Statement
Through my independent study, I aim to further develop and polish my skills as a writer by consistently practicing and seeking review from experienced professionals in the field. With the knowledge I obtain from primary and secondary research, I hope to compose various pieces in multiple genres and get at least one of them published. Following my passion, exemplifying devotion, and interpreting my creative voice to the best of my ability, I hope to impact at least one person with my writing and ultimately inspire my imagination for the future.
